An interview with Sharlette Jane

We recently had a little photoshoot and a chat with the beautiful model Sharlette Jane. Sharlette is a 20 year old Australian fashion model studying Criminology at the University of Western Sydney born to Aboriginal Father and English Mother.

1. How long have you been modeling for, and what made you want to start modelling?

I have been modelling for three years. At the age of 17 I was scouted by Gear Model Management in the Sydney CBD. I have also done Acting & Mc work.

2. Who or what is your inspiration?

My Great Grandmother who recently passed away at the age of 87 she loved to come watch me at events and modelling shows, she would always be in the front row cheering me on. She was also into the Fashion Industry when she was my age so I got a lot of helpful tips and tricks.

Favourite meal? A cooked BBQ!
Who is your style icon? Kate Moss
Favourite TV show? Big Bang Theory
Favourite bands/songs at the moment? At the moment its One Direction - Little Things
Ideal holiday destination? Hawaii - Big Island

Blogger Interview: Alicia Kara

20 year-old fashion blogger Alicia is studying a Bachelor of Design (Majoring in Fashion Marketing) and works as a publicist at the PR House. On top of all that she is a stylist (she has worked on one of our shoots!) and runs blog Alicia Kara (where you will find many LOE items).

When did you start your blog and what is the inspiration behind it?

Alicia Kara was started about a year ago from now & the inspiration behind it was to meet creative and inspiring people within the fashion industry. I wanted a reason to work with them and form new friendships in a field that was a true love of mine.

Who is your favourite designer?

My favourite designer at the moment is Sass & Bide. They design for the adventurous and the ambitious, creating outfits which stand apart from every other girl on the street.

What Autumn trends are you loving at the moment?

I'm loving oversized black hats that leave a sense of mystery about your image. I am also into a more polished look at the moment. Theirs nothing more glamorous that a classic elegance.

What is your idea for a perfect Sunday afternoon?

Cocktails with friends at The Village, Potts Point. Where I can throw on a casual styled outfit and some killer shades to enjoy the company of people who make me laugh.

What does the future hold for Alicia Kara?

The future holds the new story "The PR Girl", it's a weekly updated story of the in's and out's of the Public Relations industry and all the gossip involved. It's a great ready for girls wanting to work in fashion.

Classic

If there's one thing you should have in your wardrobe, it's a good quality white shirt. It never goes out of fashion, and can be styled in countless ways and will be appropriate to wear (almost) anywhere.

Ideas:

1. Work - with a grey or black skirt or pants, and black pumps

2. Weekend - with denim shorts, brown sandals and some dangly earrings
